HCA was founded by Hubli localite Shripad KV and his team of Professional Chess players Shri Ramachandra Bhat, Shri Chandrashekhar Yatnatti in 2001, all passionate and professional towards the game of Chess with an aim to bring awareness, cultivate interest among the fraternity and to promote Chess activities in entire district & North Karnataka from grassroot level.
HCA is instrumental in developing Chess from ground level to what it is at present, Academy has organized various Chess tournaments since 2001 with top prize money of 10K and 25K since then and has invited all the TOP chess players of Karnataka state to take part and recognized our event. Hubli Chess Academy gives coaching at the individual level, group coachings, chess in schools and colleges, personal coaching.
HCA organized numerous Chess Orientation camps in almost more than 17 districts in Karnataka State, more than 175+ Chess tournaments till date for different age categories, rapid tournaments, state open chess events, Karnataka State Chess Day -30th Nov tournaments, inter-school tournaments etc. and continuing for the benefit of Chess players across North Karnataka region.
HCA also organized special chess orientation programs for Physical Education teachers, Chess software trainings, Pairing program trainings, advanced coaching by Karnataka’s top chess players etc.
